The brief was to remove the existing kitchens load bearing wall and obstructive cabinetry , also by merging the existing dining and kitchen spaces to create a contemporary, functional, open, flowing workspace with plenty of storage that was easy to access.

The space should also complement the previously completed outdoor dining and entertainment area that is connected by large bi-fold windows.

The new space should become a multi-purpose space that would be utilised by the household in and around meal time activities to foster better interaction between children and parents.

Also to overcome the lack of natural lighting and southern orientation with clever use of colours, textures and lighting together with a feature impact wall.
